RICE LAKE, Wis. (WRN) — Make plans to attend the annual banquet that brings farm and city together.
The Barron County Farm City Banquet is tonight, at the Rice Lake Moose Club. Craig Hamernik, Barron County Farm Bureau, gives a preview.
“Our guest speaker this year is Inga Witscher. She’s busy with the dairy industry. She milks cows down in Osseo, and also processes cheese,” Hamernik said. “And then she’s got the TV show on PBS Around The Farm Table. So, she’ll talk a little bit about things that happen during the taping of that show. She’s going to do a cooking demonstration, and talk about the dairy industry, a little bit.
“It’s a great social event that’s open to everybody. Its main purpose is to recognize the important contributions that agriculture makes to the community. It kinda kicks off National Ag Week. So, we use this as a kickoff for National Ag Day, which is the next day,” Hamernik said.
Social hour begins at 6:00, with a cash bar. Dinner at 7 p.m., prepared by the Women of the Moose. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door.
