MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — A bill that lawmakers hope will reduce the amount of reckless driving offenses in Milwaukee and elsewhere now heads to Democratic Governor Tony Evers, who’s indicated he’ll sign it.

“If you’re a one time offender, that’s one time too many. We might not be able to tow you, but we’ll be able to tow your car. We have to do something about this problem of reckless driving. People are dying and by taking away the tools they use to inflict injury on the public, we’re taking a major step forward and arresting the problem,” said Milwaukee Alderman Scott Spiker.

Under the bill, police would be able to impound vehicles used in reckless driving offense, regardless of who owns the vehicle.
