MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — A bill at the Capitol would raise the legal age to buy tobacco or nicotine products in Wisconsin to 21, aligning with federal law.

Ann Dodge is a nurse and volunteer with the American Heart Association of Wisconsin.

“This could have been any of our middle or high school students that are using E-cigarettes or other nicotine products. We need to do everything we can to keep these addictive substances out of the hands of our youth and this bill will help do that,” Dodge said.

An Assembly committee heard testimony on the legislation Wednesday.
