RICE LAKE, Wis. (NWN) — A chase involving an SUV driving erratically through Cameron and Rice Lake on Friday, ended with one person in custody.
According to dispatch logs, motorists reported a silver SUV swerving over northbound Highway 53 near Chetek, just before 9:30 a.m. The vehicle drove through Cameron, then north to Rice Lake, where police began pursuing the vehicle, as it swerved all over the road and ran a red light. Police attempted using several PIT maneuvers and spike strips to stop the vehicle.
It traveled back through Cameron where it crashed into a power pole south of Cameron on County Highway SS. The suspect was jailed and a blood draw was taken.
More information from authorities was requested but not returned as of Monday morning.
