MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Liberal Dane County Judge Susan Crawford overwhelmingly won last night’s election.
Polls closed last night at 8 pm, and by 9, the race had already been called for Crawford over conservative Judge and former attorney general Brad Schimel. Crawford led early by 17 points, but by 11 pm that lead had narrowed to 9 percent, with 54 percent of voters for Crawford and 45 percent for Schimel.
That race was the most expensive judicial contest in the nation with over 100 million dollars spent on political advertising and campaigning.
Crawford’s win means the Supreme Court will continue to lean liberal.
