RICE LAKE, Wis. (NWN) — The driver has been named who was involved in a pursuit across Barron County on Friday.
The State Patrol said 31-year-old Steven D. Biermann, of Chippewa Falls was arrested for OWI-second offense.
Police were alerted to an SUV driving erratically on Highway 53 and a state trooper located the vehicle on County Highway SS in Rice Lake. The vehicle led State Troopers, police from Rice Lake, Cameron and Barron, and Barron County sheriff’s deputies on a chase through Rice Lake and Cameron, where it ended after officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle.
Biermann was booked in the Barron County Jail on charges of OWI, fleeing an officer, reckless driving with endangering safety and possession of methamphetamine.
