Chetek Fire and Rescue Ice Fishing Tournament

The first ice fishing contest on the Chetek Chain of Lakes in 2026 is set for Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, as the the Chetek Fire and Rescue hosts the 32nd annual Adult and Kids Ice Fishing Tournament from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. As usual, the contest will land on Wisconsin’s Free Fishing Weekend for the winter, which will be Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 17-18, 2026.
No registration necessary to fish, we just ask you purchase raffle tickets before going out.
Fish can be caught anywhere on the chain but MUST be alive during weigh in to ensure they weren’t caught before the start of the tournament.
Timeline:
7:30 – Raffle tickets available at the tent.
9:00 – Official tournament start/scale open.
3:00 – Deadline for weigh in.
3:30 – Raffle and fish prizes awarded.
5:00 – After party at Lakeside Cantina.
6:00 – Music by Austin Karr.
7:30 – Raffle tickets available at the tent.

Raffle tickets are also available at several business in Chetek now including bars, shops, etc. as always. Tickets are $2 each or a book of 6 for $10.
Raffles prizes include the following:

Fish categories include Northern Pike, Bass, Walleye, Crappie, Bluegill, Perch. Prizes by weight include:

There are categories for kids, prizes to be determined!

We will also have our usual raffles for other prizes. Facebook’s rules don’t allow us to post about firearms in events, so keep an eye on our posts for updates as to what will be available to win!
HOT concessions will be served all day including brats, hot chocolate, soda, and more.
All funds raised will go to Chetek Fire and Rescue for equipment purchases and additional training.
