Red Cedar Symphony: Celebrate American Jazz
August 5 @ 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

The Red Cedar Symphony invites you to an evening of smooth melodies and soulful swing for a celebration of American jazz music at the free summer pops concert on Tuesday, August 5, at 7:00 pm at Veterans Memorial Park Bandshell in Rice Lake.
Enjoy arrangements of jazz legends like Duke Ellington, Scott Joplin, George Gershwin, and others in a relaxed outdoor setting. With its blend of jazz rhythms and orchestral color, Gershwin’s An American in Paris Suite presents a playful medley, perfect for a summer evening.
The familiar tunes of Bill Bailey, St. James Infirmary, and When the Saints Go Marching In showcase the diversity of Dixieland in Bill Holcombe’s arrangement of International Dixieland Jamboree. And among others, sway along with the luscious melody of Moonlight Serenade.
With the rich legacy of American jazz as its heartbeat, these and other musical selections blend the local artistry of the Red Cedar Symphony, conducted by Adam Bever, with timeless rhythms of a bygone era.
Be sure to bring your family and your lawn chairs for an evening of music, community, and the spirit of summer. The local Golden Kiwanis will be selling snacks during intermission.
