The Chippewa Valley Bee Expo
April 12 @ 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Sustainable Living and Outdoor Skills Sessions Highlight Chippewa Valley Bee Expo
The Chippewa Valley Bee Expo, a new annual family event dedicated to educating members of the community about pollinators and natural living practices, will take place 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls.
Demonstrations and presentations will be held throughout the day on a wide range of topics focused on sustainability, encouraging pollinators, and using the products produced by honeybees. Youth events will also be a big part of the Expo, including face painting, Balloons by Kevin, bee stickers and bracelets and activity pages.
The Expo is the brainchild of Galen Klisiewicz of Stanley. The entrepreneur owns the Chippewa Valley Farmers Market and is the proprietor of a business called Let’s Get Pickled. The gardens he grows for his pickles got him interested in pollinators, and he began beekeeping more than a decade ago. His degree in animal nutrition and his dedication to encouraging pollinators drove him to spearhead a non-profit organization to stage the Chippewa Valley Bee Expo.
The event includes presentations and seminars throughout the day on topics ranging from creating a pollinator friendly yard and garden to beginning beekeeping, and from cooking with honey to developing natural products derived from keeping bees.
