EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WRN) — Former Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald has traded in his badge, for dancing shoes.
Now the director of public relations for Mosaic Technologies, and Mosaic HomeTech in Eau Claire, Chris Fitzgerald is taking the stage in a Dancing with the Stars competition. It’s modeled after the ABC reality TV series, but benefits the Eau Claire Children’s Theater. Fitzgerald says he’s been training with a dance pro and choreographer.
“No, it’s not a secret talent. This is a new learned thing. And yeah, obviously I’ve been involved in a lot of fundraisers across Barron County and, and the, the area, Northwest Wisconsin,” Fitzgerald said. “And so this is a new, unique experience for me, something I’ve never done.
“We have an opening number group dance, and then we go into our individual dances and we’re doing a hip-hop dance to a Hannah Montana remix. So that’ll be my first dance. And then we’re doing obviously going off my former career and doing Jailhouse Rock, to a jive. I don’t get to be the sheriff, I get to be the bad guy this time around,” he said.
“My choreographer from the Diamond School of Dance down in Eau Claire, Niloh [Arroyo] has been a great coach and Amber [Steffel]’s been a great coach. And we’re excited to bring home a trophy tomorrow night and raise a lot of money for the Eau Claire children’s theater,” Fitzgerald said.
Team Fitzgerald will be competing against nine other couples teams, for votes from judges and the crowd. The show is at the Pablo in Eau Claire, Thursday evening.
Ticket sales have closed but you can still donate and vote for Team Fitzgerald online at ecct.org. And Fitzgerald said watch Mosaic’s social media for videos of his performance.
