MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — A new mRNA-based flu vaccine will be available in Wisconsin this fall.

Department of Health Services Dr. Jonathan Westergaard says early results are promising.

“It’s called Imfluziva, and the early data shows that it’s pretty effective. There’s some head-to-head data showing that it’s even more effective than traditional vaccines for people aged 50 years and older,” Westergaard says.

Westergaard says people interested in the vaccine should talk with their healthcare provider.
