SPOONER, Wis. (NWN) – More than 370 contestants are entered for the nine PRCA Rodeo events at the Spooner Rodeo.
Rodeo Committee Chairman Bob LeMoine says there are more than 370 competitors across nine events, including some big names in the rodeo circuits.
“Pretty full house this year. We’ve got some guys from our Great Lakes Circuit, which is a nine-state circuit. It’s actually the biggest rodeo circuit in the nation,” LeMoine said. “We’ve got Nick Pelke, who is actually a Wisconsin cowboy. He’s a favorite. He’d be in the bareback bronc riding, and he’ll be out on Saturday the 11th. Tanner Aus, who is from Minnesota. Those guys are both sitting in the top 20 in the world standings right now. So we’re pretty tickled to get them,” LeMoine said.
“You know, we always get some of the big names here, but we do compete against a lot of the big rodeos out west. They come back to Spooner to rodeo because they just really like it here.”
The rodeo runs through the weekend, with family friendly events each day. Music follows the rodeo each night. For tickets and schedule information, visit Spooner Rodeo dot com.
