(AP) — Taj Bradley pitched six innings of five-hit ball while Matt Wallner, Kody Clemens and Josh Bell each hit solo shots in the ninth, helping the Twins to a 5-1 victory over the Royals. Clemens also scored on an error by five-time Gold Glove-winner Salvador Perez while Byron Buxton hit a sacrifice fly for the Twins. It helped them avoid a three-game sweep. Cole Ragans allowed a single unearned run over six sharp innings for Kansas City before the Royals bullpen allowed the game to get away from them.

(Milwaukee, WI) — Whether superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is in the Bucks lineup for tonight’s (Friday’s) Fiserv Forum meeting with Boston will reportedly be a game-time decision. ESPN reports his estimated return date was set as April 3rd – and that’s tonight. He’s been sidelined since March 15th with a hyperextended left knee. At that time, it was estimated he would be out one week. Instead, he has missed nine games. Teammate Bobby Portis says he doesn’t think the two-time MVP will return this season.

DETROIT (AP) — Jalen Duren had 22 points and 14 rebounds, Daniss Jenkins scored 26 and the Detroit Pistons beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-108 on Thursday night as both teams were without a superstar.Minnesota ruled out All-Star guard Anthony Edwards, listing his right knee injury and an illness. The Pistons announced Cade Cunningham would be out at least another week to recover from a collapsed left lung. Edwards and Cunningham will be ineligible for NBA postseason awards because they can’t reach the 65-game minimum. The Pistons went on an 11-0 run midway through the fourth quarter to take control.

ST. PAUL. Minn. (AP) — Matt Boldy scored his 39th and 40th goals, Kirill Kaprizov added his 40th and the Minnesota Wild wrapped up a playoff spot with a 5-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night. Third in the Western Conference and the NHL’s stacked Central Division, Minnesota secured the postseason spot in 75 games after getting in last season in the 82nd and final game before falling to Vegas in the first round. Ryan Hartmman scored twice in the third to reach 20 goals, and Filip Gustavsson made 29 saves. Former Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes had his 67th assist. He joined the Wild in a blockbuster trade in December. Tom Willander and Jake DeBrusk scored for NHL-worst Vancouver.

(Green Bay, WI) — Packers CEO Ed Policy has tapped head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst to serve on some NFL committees. Policy says he’s switching his focus to the business side. LaFleur was appointed to the head coaches committee, and Gutekunst to the GM advisory committee. Policy tells reporters he made the move before telling the two men, but they have now agreed.

(Madison, WI) — Qualifying for the postseason shows that it’s a new day for Wisconsin women’s basketball. New coach Robin Pingeton led her team into the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament and completed a 16-and-18 record. That’s the most wins for the Badgers in 15 years. Pingeton hit the ground running, building her roster from the day she arrived. Just four days after the end of the WBIT, she’s already built a recruiting class that could be one of the best in the program’s history. Three elite prospects are in-state players.
