(Milwaukee, WI) — An ESPN poll confirms the obvious: the steal of the 2026 NBA Draft came when the Bucks chose guard Brayden Burries. Behind the Buck Pass-dot-com reports that he received twice the votes awarded to the second rookie on the list, Yaxel Lendenborg of the Golden State Warriors. Burries had been projected as a top five or six prospect coming out of college and Milwaukee got him at number 10. He looks like he will be a significant contributor, breaking a string of bad picks.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to terms with power forward Jonathan Kuminga on a two-year, $12.4 million contract, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team had not confirmed the agreement. The deal would give the seventh overall pick from the 2021 draft an opportunity to hit the free agent market in a year. Kuminga will fill an obvious need in the frontcourt for the Timberwolves after they traded Julius Randle and Naz Reid as part of their offseason acquisition of point guard LaMelo Ball.
(Madison, WI) — Badgers inside linebackers coach Tuf Borland has been named one of the top young football assistant coaches in the country. Borland joined the program in 2023 as a grad assistant and was promoted to his current position when Mike Tressel was named defensive coordinator. He has a lot of talent to work with, including players like Mason Posa and Cooper Catalano. It was 247Sports that named him one of its Top 30 coaches under the age of 30.
