(Portland, OR) — Thirty-six points from Ryan Rollins weren’t nearly enough to keep the Bucks in a game at Portland Thursday night. The Trail Blazers rolled to a 130-99 victory. That’s eight losses in the last 10 games for Milwaukee. Starters Giannis Antetokounmpo, Myles Turner, and Kyle Kuzma missed the action – as did sixth-man Bobby Portis. The Bucks return home to meet the San Antonio Spurs Saturday afternoon.

PORTLAND (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday that 10-time All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo remains sidelined by a left knee injury that has kept him out of five games. Antetokounmpo’s status has been tied to the debate over tanking and the player participation policy. The Bucks have lost 11 of their last 14 games and their chances of making the playoffs are slim. The National Basketball Players Association on Tuesday issued a statement that appeared to call out the Bucks. The statement followed reports that Antetokounmpo wants to return.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Julius Randle hit the go-ahead jumper with 8.8 seconds left in overtime to cap a game-closing 15-0 run by the Minnesota Timberwolves for a 110-108 victory over the Houston Rockets. Minnesota overcame a 13-point deficit in overtime, the biggest comeback since detailed play-by-play throughout the game began in 1997. Randle was called for a foul on Kevin Durant’s drive with 3.3 seconds remaining. Durant missed his first free throw and the second one intentionally to try to try to keep possession. The Rockets never got a final shot. Durant and Alperen Sengun each scored 30 points and led a 12-0 run late in regulation.

(Milwaukee, WI) — Second-year pitcher Jacob Misiorowski gets the Opening Day start for the Milwaukee Brewers this afternoon (Thursday). Manager Pat Murphy and his team will welcome the Chicago White Sox to American Family Field. Milwaukee won a franchise-record 97 games last season. Misiorowski threw five hitless innings against the St. Louis Cardinals in his first major league start last June. Only two pitchers have been younger when they started an Opening Day game.
Pregame at 12:35pm. First pitch at 1:10pm on AM1240 & 96.5FM

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Hayley Scamurra and Lina Ljungblom each scored their third goal of the season, Ann-Renée Desbiens earned her fifth shutout, and the Montréal Victoire beat the Minnesota Frost 3-0 to sweep the season series. Montréal (11-4-2-5) has earned points in 10 straight games (6-2-2-0), a streak that began with an overtime win at Minnesota on Jan. 21. It’s the longest such streak in PWHL history since Toronto’s 11 in 2024. Catherine Dubois scored her second goal of the season to open the scoring with 40.7 seconds left in the second period. Dubois took advantage of a Minnesota turnover with a quick one-timer. Scamurra controlled a loose puck in front of the net and tucked it around goaltender Maddie Rooney. Ljungblom matched her goal total from a year ago.

(Madison, WI) — The Wisconsin men’s hockey team is returning to the NCAA tournament as an at-large entry. The Badgers have had an up-and-down season, but they still made it to the round of 16. They take on ECAC champion Dartmouth in the first game on the way to the Frozen Four. Coach Mike Hastings’ team won three of the four games it played against ranked teams at the end of the regular season. Tonight’s game will be played on the ice in Worcester, Massachusetts.

(New York, NY) — The Packers, their best defensive player, and several other teams don’t like the “tush push,” but they’re just going to have to put up with it. Athlon Sports reports that play isn’t on the agenda when league owners meet next week. Micah Parsons has told reporters that players getting behind the ball carrier and pushing him forward in short-yardage situations isn’t football. The Packers introduced a proposition to get rid of it last year. It will remain as a legal play during the 2026 NFL season.
