SIREN, Wis. (NWN) — A head-on collision injured two drivers on Wednesday morning.
Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch said the crash happened just after 6 a.m. on Wednesday, on Highway 70, between Hertel and Siren. Authorities said a Toyota Corolla was driving east when it crossed the centerline and into the path of a semi-trailer truck. A small fire under the truck was extinguished by a deputy. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the Toyota driver may have dozed off, causing his car to drift into the oncoming semi.
Highway 70 was closed for six hours due to the crash investigation and vehicle removal.
