MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — The Republican candidate for Wisconsin governor reacts to the outcome of Tuesday’s Wisconsin Supreme Court election.
Tom Tiffany was asked about liberal candidate Chris Taylor winning 60% of the statewide vote on Tuesday.
“We got our butts kicked last night, right? There’s no doubt about it, and we should acknowledge that. But the election that’s coming up this fall in November is a new election. And you guys know as well as anyone, every election is unique,” Tiffany said.
Speaking with reporters at the Capitol in Madison, the 7th District congressman said he’s confident in his campaign’s focus and that the key to winning in November is getting conservative leaning voters to turn out. Tiffany declined to weigh in on the future of state Republican Party chair Brian Schimming, saying he has his hands full running for governor.
