MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — One key question in Wisconsin’s governor’s race between Republican Tom Tiffany and Democrat David Crowley may be whether candidates can build identities independent of the political figures who helped elevate them.

UW – La Crosse Political Science Professor Anthony Chergosky says both face that challenge.

“It remains to be seen the extent to which Crowley and Tiffany are able to carve out their own unique political brands independent of these key figures whose political fortunes they are so tied to. Can Tom Tiffany carve out his own unique brand separate from Trump? Can David Crowley craft his own unique political brand?” said Chergosky.

The general election takes place on November 3rd.
