(Milan, IT) — The USA Women’s Olympic Hockey team hadn’t scored a goal Thursday with about two minutes left in the championship game. That’s when former Wisconsin star Hilary Knight tipped in a shot from current Wisconsin star Laila Edwards. NBC Sports reports that tied the score at one apiece, and an overtime goal by Megan Keller gave the Americans a win over Canada and the gold medal. The 36-year-old Knight has said this will be her final Olympics.

(Milwaukee, WI) — Brewers manager Pat Murphy is hanging around a few more years. Sports Illustrated reports that the two-time National League Manager of the Year has agreed to an extension of his contract through 2028. Murphy led Milwaukee to a franchise-best 97-and-65 record last season. He becomes one of the highest-paid managers in Major League Baseball with an agreement that includes almost nine million dollars in new money.

(Madison, WI) — A bill adding regulations on the way University of Wisconsin athletes are paid for their name, image, and likeness rights has made it through the state House. The Wisconsin Examiner reports the measure goes next to the Senate. Thursday’s vote was 95-to-1 for passage. Thirty-two other states have already passed similar legislation.

(Milwaukee, WI) — With all the focus on superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and whether he will be traded, the Bucks are working behind the scenes on establishing a youthful core. Milwaukee seems to have struck gold in its acquisition of Ousmane Dieng. Behind the Buck Pass-dot-com reports that the team is also playing the long game with 20-year-old Bogoljub Markovic, who played overseas last year. He may stay one more season, but he has shown great promise. Markovic was taken in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft.
Tonight the Bucks visit New Orleans. Pregame at 6:30pm. Tipoff at 7pm on AM1240 & 96.5FM

MILAN (AP) — American speedskater Jordan Stolz’s bid for a third gold medal at the Milan Cortina Olympics has come up short with a loss to China’s Ning Zhongyan in the 1,500 meters. Ning won Thursday in an Olympic-record time of 1 minute, 41.98 seconds. Stolz, skating in the day’s last heat, finished 0.77 off the pace, and adds a silver to the golds he claimed earlier at these Winter Games in the 500 and 1,000. The 21-year-old from Wisconsin will participate in his last race, the mass start, on Saturday. Two-time 1,500 defending Olympic champion Kjeld Nuis of the Netherlands got the bronze on Thursday.
