(Milwaukee, WI) — Jackson Chourio led off with a home run, knocking the first pitch out of the park Tuesday night. After that, all the action was controlled by Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yammamto in a 5-1 L-A win. Yammamoto pitched a complete game to take the win. Milwaukee’s losing pitcher was Freddy Peralta. The series switches back to Los Angeles for Game 3 Friday, with Jacob Misiorowski starting.

(Green Bay, WI) — He’s been the go-to man every time the Packers needed a fill-in. Now, those performances, along with a better situation with his contract, mean Jordan Morgan has made his way into the starting lineup. Morgan takes over for Sean Rhyan at right guard. Rhyan is a free agent at the end of the year, and Green Bay will likely spend its cap money elsewhere to hang on to wide receiver Romeo Doubs.

(Milwaukee, WI) — The Bucks lost for the first time in the preseason Tuesday night, dropping a 116-112 decision to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Point guard Cole Anthony helped his push for a starting job by scoring 21 points in 18 minutes. Anthony was good on 5-of-6 3-pointers. Milwaukee finishes the preseason with a 3-and-1 record. The Bucks open the regular season a week from tonight, October 22nd, at home against the Washington Wizards.

The NBA is using “automated officiating” to enhance game accuracy. This technology, which includes cameras and sensors, helps referees make precise calls by tracking players and the ball. An example is LeBron James’s buzzer-beater against the Indiana Pacers, where technology confirmed the correct call. The NBA aims to improve game flow and transparency with shorter review times and clearer explanations for fans. Other sports, like baseball and tennis, are also adopting tech for officiating. The goal is to support referees, not replace them, allowing them to focus on complex judgment calls.

(Madison, WI) — The Badgers are not being given much of a chance at home Saturday when Ohio State visits. The Buckeyes are a 25-and-a-half-point favorite. Coach Luke Fickell’s team has dropped four straight and wasn’t competitive in a 37-0 loss to Iowa last time out. Ohio State is coming off a 42-3 pasting of Minnesota. The Badgers have dropped eight straight Big Ten Conference games.

DALLAS (AP) — Wyatt Johnston scored on a power play to extend his season-opening goal streak to three games, Jake Oettinger stopped 39 shots and the Dallas Stars won their home opener 5-2 over the Minnesota Wild. Johnston, the 22-year-old in his fourth NHL season, is the first Stars player since Alexander Radulov in 2018-19 to have a goal in each of the first three games. The Stars are 3-0 in Glen Gulutzan’s return as their head coach. Dallas led 3-0 early in the second period, and got two empty-net goals in the final 1:42 on Tuesday night. Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov scored power-play goals for Minnesota in the third period.
