LADYSMITH, Wis. (WJMC) — Court documents allege an extramarital affair led to the shooting death of a Rusk County man who was reported missing.

55-year-old Elizabeth M. DuSell was formally charged with felony hiding a corpse on Wednesday in Rusk County Circuit Court. She was held on a $25,000 cash bond.
She was married to 56-year-old Terry DuSell.

A family member said Terry had not been seen since Feb. 28. His body was found by police on Tuesday. The couple lived in Hubbard Township, north of Ladysmith.

Court records allege Elizabeth and 61-year-old Charles Allers were having an affair over the past two months. Allers told police Terry did not know about the affair and he and Elizabeth often discussed killing Terry. Allers alleged he shot Terry in his bed with Terry;s .22 cal. handgun during the early morning of Feb. 28.

He said Elizabeth was in the house during the shooting and while he removed and hid Terry’s body outside. Allers was later located driving Terry’s truck.

Allers has been named as a person of interest by police, but has not been charged. He was in the Sawyer County Jail on an unrelated probation warrant.
