CHETEK, Wis. (WJMC) — A vehicle caught fire after crashing into the woods off of Highway 53 Sunday afternoon.
Barron County dispatch logs showed the crash was reported just before 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, between New Auburn and Chetek. It crashed into the woods and then caught fire.
The fire was extinguished by Chetek firefighters by 5:30 p.m. The only occupant, the driver, had no serious injuries, but a helicopter was paged for an airlift.
No other information was immediately available. The vehicle was removed by a tow truck.
