CHETEK, Wis. (WJMC) — A proposal to sell the Chetek City Ball Field, known as Denny Overby Field, in downtown Chetek, will be discussed and considered by the Chetek City Council on Tuesday evening.

Local resident and business owner, Beth Siems, says she is interested in purchasing the property, with possible plans to put in a mini golf course and possibly a splash pad.

The city-owned ball field was the former home for the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs softball team, which has recently built a new softball field and renovated the baseball field at the school. The C-W Youth Baseball and Softball league says they need the city field to meet the growing needs of its summer program.

The council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Chetek City Hall.
