(Milwaukee, WI) — A four-run fourth inning broke a 1-1 tie on the way to the Brewers’ 7-2 win over Cincinnati Tuesday night. Brandon Sproat went five-and-a-third innings to pick up his third win of the season. Jackson Chourio and Jake Bauers provided the power as Milwaukee took the series with a game remaining. Shane Drohan starts the game tonight (Wednesday) as the Brewers try to extend their modest winning streak to three in a row.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers fans offered one more toast to Bob Uecker on Tuesday during a dedication ceremony for a giant downtown mural of the longtime broadcaster who died last year. Uecker broadcast Brewers games for 54 seasons. Milwaukee has honored him ever since for the loyalty he showed to his hometown even after developing into a national celebrity for his appearances in movies, television shows and commercials. The mural is 80 feet wide and 100 feet tall. It features Uecker wearing one of his trademark plaid blazers and includes his signature, as well as his “Mr. Baseball” nickname.
HOUSTON (AP) — Yordan Alvarez’s grand slam highlighted a six-run fourth inning and the Houston Astros beat the Minnesota Twins 6-4. With Houston facing a three-run deficit after three innings, Cam Smith and Taylor Trammell singled in the fourth. With runners at the corners, Yainer Diaz hit an RBI single. Raynel Delgato walked, loading the bases. Jose Altuve challenged his strikeout call with a full count. The call was overturned and another run scored. Alvarez then hit his 26th home run of the season to right-center field. Astros starter Mike Burrows (4-8) pitched five innings. He gave up six hits and four earned runs, striking out three and walking two. Josh Hader struck out two in the ninth inning and picked up his eighth save.
(Madison, WI) — Multiple sources say the next athletic director for the University of Wisconsin is expected to come from Texas. Shawn Eichorst has many Wisconsin ties, as a former athlete at UW-Whitewater and a former deputy athletic director under Barry Alvarez in Madison in 2009. Eichorst served as an AD at Miami and Nebraska. He would succeed Chris McIntosh.

Bradley Barcola added a 53rd-minute goal for France and Mbappé capped the scoring in the 74th minute for his third two-goal game in four matches. His six goals tied Argentina forward Lionel Messi for the tournament lead and gave him 18 in his World Cup career, one shy of Messi’s record.

The players watched thrilling games from other venues that included a major upset with Germany falling to Paraguay, three games that went down to the wire and two nervy shootouts. Then the reality quickly set in that they would soon be back in the spotlight themselves. The U.S. has a round of 32 matchup against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday that will go a long way to determining how successful this World Cup will be.
