WASHINGTON, Wis. (WRN) — As Ron Johnson assumes the chairmanship of the US Senate’s Budget Committee following the death of Lindsey Graham, the Wisconsin Republican tells FOX Business his priorities.

“I’m a problem solver, I come from the manufacturing sector. I understand the process for solving a problem. First you have to admit you have one. And unfortunately, way too many members of Congress, too much of the public is whistling by the graveyard,” Johnson said.

Johnson has long called for spending restraint by the federal government.

Republicans in Congress are currently attempting to pass a third budget reconciliation bill of the term before November’s midterm elections, with a focus on providing more funds for the war in Iran, more cuts to federal benefit programs and passing the SAVE America act with its restrictions on voting.
