MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — According to a new study from the Midwest Economic Policy Institute, Wisconsin has been hit particularly hard by tariffs and the trade war implemented by the Trump Administration.
“Household costs increased by $1500 in Wisconsin, manufacturing lost about 6,000 jobs and the economy contracted by $2 billion dollars as well. Simply there’s a larger manufacturing base in Wisconsin so manufacturers were hit a little bit harder,’ said study co-author Frank Manzo.
Manzo says the Midwest accounts for one-fifth of all manufacturing and agriculture produced in the United States.
