BARRON, Wis. (NWN) — A contractor scam alert from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said asphalt and paving scams involving out-of-state companies selling services door-to-door were reported in Barron and surrounding counties. Such scams usually involve an upfront payments and with work going uncompleted.
The sheriff’s department urged people to let friends and neighbors know of any potential scams and to call police if they have anyone suspicious come to your door.
