MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Democratic lawmakers say a Green Amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution could ensure future generations have a clean and safe natural environment.
“As warmer winters and unpredictable precipitation patterns impact Wisconsin’s $25 billion tourism industry, extreme weather events are also making it harder to predictably plant and harvest crops, all of which hurts our $116.3 billion agricultural economy,” said Beloit Senator Mark Spreitzer:
The amendment unlikely to be taken up in the Republican controlled State Legislature.
Constitutional amendments must pass two consecutive sessions before going before voters for approval.
