Emotional testimony in the state Assembly Thursday prior to a vote on “Gail’s Law” to require insurance to cover additional cancer screenings for women with dense breast tissue.

“I got to meet Gail in my first term, and then I had to attend her funeral at the second. So this means a lot. Let’s do this,” Gustafson said.

Following near unanimous passage in the state Senate earlier this month, Thursday’s unanimous Assembly vote sends the bill to Governor Tony Evers for his signature.
