CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WRN) — A change of venue is requested for the teenager accused of killing a Chippewa Falls girl.
17-year-old Carson Peters-Berger was 14 when 10-year-old Lily Peters was raped and killed in April 2022. Peters-Berger is charged as an adult with first-degree intentional homicide and sexual assault causing great bodily harm.
Claiming media coverage and public comments will prevent his client from having a fair trial in Chippewa County, the attorney for Peters-Berger filed a motion last week to move the trial or to have the jury drawn from a different county.
A June hearing is scheduled for the motion.
