BARRON, Wis. (WJMC) — A new survey will help Barron County officials determine how alcohol use is affecting its youth.

The Barron County Department of Health & Human Services is asking county residents to take part in a survey about binge drinking in adults and underaged drinking in kids to see how they can address the issues.

Barron County Public Health Specialist Sarah Turner explains what the county hopes to do with the data.

“This grant really focuses on environmental strategies. We’re looking at systems and policies,” Turner said. “So we’re not looking at treating individuals or doing individual programming. We’re looking at what we can change in our community’s environment to help make the environment healthier for people and making better choices easier to make.”

The survey runs through March 31st. The survey and more information can be found on the Barron County Sheriff’s Department and the Barron County Public Health pages on Facebook.
