Local humane societies across Wisconsin are looking for any help they can get this holiday season.
Marathon County Humane Society Executive Director Lisa Litermann says adopting a pet if your situation allows can be a big help.
“Anytime is the time to do it, but you know when these situations present themselves and it’s more of an emergency type situation. We’ve definitely had people be motivated like, hey, I’ve been thinking about it, but like, wow, now is the time to do it,” Litermann said.
Litermann says you can also help by donating money or specific items needed at your local shelter.
