MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — New legislation from Democratic lawmakers would legalize marijuana for adult use in Wisconsin.
“Legalization is about freedom. The freedom of adults to make up their own mind, to make their own choice, whether to consume cannabis. In the United States, Wisconsin is an outlier in terms of denying people this freedom. We are only one of a few states that completely bans the marijuana plant,” said Sun Prairie Representative Andrew Hysell says.
A Republican authored bill in the State Senate would legalize medical marijuana in Wisconsin. The Democratic-led bill will face challenges passing in the Republican controlled chambers of the Legislature.
