MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Candidates for state schools Superintendent accuse one another of lying.
Challenger Brittany Kinser was on a Tuesday morning media call.
“As a first-time candidate who has never run for office before, I did not realize how vicious and dishonest the attacks would be for from an incumbent to win this race, the twisting of the truth and the blatant lies are truly beneath this role of chief education officer for the state.”
The campaign of incumbent DPI Superintendent Jill Underly responded “Brittany Kinser’s entire campaign is built on lies,” and said that Kinser has mischaracterized Underly on reading scores, standards and literacy funding, and that Kinser has falsely claimed not to have worked as a private school lobbyist.
Kinser has granted numerous interviews, and she and Underly have had just one online debate.
