MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Health experts say support from family and friends can play a major role in helping breast cancer survivors remain healthy after treatment.
“A cancer diagnosis of any sort can be a big wake up call and a motivator for making lifestyle changes. It’s hard to make lifestyle changes. So if family members and friends and the social support system can be there to help promote those healthy behaviors, that is awesome,” said UW Health medical oncologist Dr. Kim Dittus.
Having an accountability partner can make healthy habits easier to maintain.
