SHELL LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — Four culverts have washed out in Washburn County and several road sections are closed.
The highway department said 5.5 inches of rain this weekend washed out two culverts on County Highway B, east and west of Sawyer Creek Road; one on Hector Dam Road, one mile north of Brook Drive; and one on Cadle Road, west of Sunset Lane. The culverts on County Highway B are being repaired starting Monday, with the other two culverts following.
As of Monday, there was no estimated timeline for reopening the roads.
Due to the washouts, the project work on County Highway A culvert replacement has been delayed.
