There’s help for Wisconsin veterans dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
June is PTSD Awareness Month. Lexy Duvall is a clinical coordinator with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Veteran Outreach and Recovery Program.
“There are a lot of resources located around the state for veterans to access if they are facing challenges with their mental health or with PTSD,” Duvall said.
WDVA’s Collen Flaherty says QPR training is available statewide.
“That’s Question, Persuade, Refer. It’s a free training that’s offered by the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. It’s kind of been compared to sort of the CPR for suicide prevention training,” Duvall added.
More information is available through County and Tribal Veterans Service Officers and online at DVA.WI.GOV.
