BARRON, Wis. (WJMC) — Barron County Sheriff Jodi Kummet announced her candidacy last week and is running for a full 4-year term.

Kummet, a former state trooper, was appointed as sheriff by Gov. Tony Evers, serving the remaining term held by Chris Fitzgerald after he stepped down. From Cumberland, Kummet has more than 30 years of extensive experience in law enforcement.

The election is Nov. 3, for the 4-year term starting January 2027.
