RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — Lehman’s Supper Club, in Rice Lake, a renowned dining spot for generations, has sold.

After 91 years in his family, owner Butch Lehman said it was time. The new owners are Jason and Paige Karnes, restaurant owners from the Balsam Lake area, Lehman said.

“And they’ve been working with us for probably just about the last month or so to see how it felt. And a few weeks ago, they came to us and said, I think this is what we want to do. And with that, well, then we sat down and they want to do exactly the same thing that we’re doing at Lehman’s,” Lehman said. “Even the name stays the same, Lehman’s Supper Club. So we’re looking for a pretty smooth transition. And again, we’ll be here to the end of the year. And we’ll be around occasionally in 2026 also. I think they’re going to do just fine.”

The sale is final this week, pending some last minute paperwork.

Lehman said he and Trudy, and their children, Claire, Paul, John, Michael and Anna, and staff were thankful for the support of customers and friends who became like family over the years.
