RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — Get ready for fishing this weekend.
The Wisconsin fishing opener is Saturday, and the DNR reminds you to take some time this week to prepare, before you go out on the water.
“Make sure you have your current fishing license. Last year’s fishing license expired March 31st. Secondly, is to make sure you’re going through the regulations for fishing,” said conservation warden Josh Loining.
“Make sure you know your size limits, bag limits, possession limits for every fish. If you’re going to be out in a boat, go through your boat. Get your current registration on your boat,” he added. “Make sure your safety equipment is functioning, lights are working. Wearing warm gear out there. Make sure we have the availability to have a proper fitting life jacket for everybody on board.”
Check the DNR website to purchase your fishing license, or in-person at a DNR service station or any authorized sales locations.
