MENOMONIE, Wis. (WRN) — A motorcycle rider died after a crashing his bike, trying to avoid deer, Tuesday afternoon.
Dunn County Sheriff Kevin Bygd said a 55-year-old man was riding south on 420th Street, between Downsville and Durand, when he put down the bike to avoid deer in the road, just before 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
The lone rider was wearing a helmet at the time, but was injured. He was airlifted to a hospital in Eau Claire where he later died. The crash was under investigation and a name would be released later, police said.
