HUDSON, Wis. (WJMC) — A motorcycle rider is dead following a crash on Interstate 94, near Hudson.
The state patrol said 58-year-old David Burley, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, died at the hospital after he and is 1949 Vincent motorcycle was struck by an Infiniti sedan, driven by 33-year-old Andre Mathews, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
Investigators said Mathews was driving westbound when he attempted to overtake a vehicle on the right shoulder, struck a guardrail and veered into the traffic lanes, striking Burley. Both then struck the median barrier.
Burley was taken to the hospital where he later died. Mathews had nonlife-threatening injuries and police suspected he had been drinking. The crash was under investigation.
