SHELL LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — A person was arrested last week related to a fire near Shell Lake.
St. Croix Tribal Police said firefighters and police were called to a structure fire on Billy Boy Lane, between Shell Lake and Hertel, finding a residence ablaze.
Two people were outside of the house and no one was injured. The fire was extinguished, but the house was a total loss. Police said one person at the scene was arrested in connection to how the fire started.
Burnett County Jail Records show a 22-year-old woman was arrested on a preliminary charge of arson.
Police said the fire was under investigation and charges will be referred to the Burnett County District Attorney’s Office.
