AMERY, Wis. (WRN) — A small plane crash landed in a field near the Amery airport on Friday morning.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department said the lone occupant, the pilot, was not injured. He told emergency responders that the single-engine Cessna Skyhawk had engine problems after taking off from the airport. He attempted to land back at the airport but the engine quit and he landed in a field southeast of the airport.
The plane flipped over while landing.
The NTSB and FAA were notified of the incident and are investigating.
FAA records show the plane is owned by a flight school in Osceola. The pilot was not named.
