GREEN BAY, Wis. (WRN) — Republican lawmakers want the state to pitch in some additional funding to cover the costs of public safety for next week’s NFL Draft in Green Bay.

“Over two-thirds of the economic development of the NFL Draft is going to be felt outside of Brown County, and that’s why two-thirds of the public safety expenses we are looking to have the State cover,” said Howard Representative David Steffen.

Lawmakers are asking for $1.25 million that would be split among Brown County, the city of Green Bay, and the village of Ashwaubenon. The draft takes place April 24th through the 26th.
