A package of bills introduced by Assembly Republicans would encourage school districts to consolidate as enrollments decline. Pleasant Prairie Representative Amanda Nedweski says consolidating can offer more opportunities to students.
Nedweski says “The savings that they realize, particularly from reducing administrative bloat and redundant services, will provide districts with more resources for the classroom, whether it’s increasing teacher pay, expanding access to AP courses or tech Ed courses, or increasing special education services”
Nedweski’s bill would offer financial incentives to districts that voluntarily consolidate. Assembly Republicans introduced a number of education focused legislation at the Capitol Tuesday.
