RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WJMC) — A bank employee was stabbed with a knife during an alleged attempted robbery at a River Falls bank on Tuesday.
River Falls Police said a man attempted to steal money and stabbed a bank employee before fleeing First National Bank on East Locust Street in River Falls.
The suspect’s vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with an unmarked police squad car, stopping both vehicles. The suspect fled on foot but was quickly apprehended.
River Falls Police Chief Gordon Young said the officer in the squad was not seriously injured and the bank employee was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was expected to make a full recovery.
The suspect was not named at this time and the incident was under investigation.
