MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Drivers need to use caution with fall harvest underway.
The Wisconsin State Patrol reminds drivers to watch for slow-moving farm equipment on rural roads. More than 2,000 crashes involving farm vehicles have been reported statewide over the past five years, resulting in 650 injuries and 28 deaths.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, October is the busiest and most hazardous month. Motorists need to slow down, allow extra space, and only pass farm equipment when it’s safe and legal to do so.
