(Milwaukee, WI) — The Arizona Diamondbacks roughed up Milwaukee starter José Quintana for six early runs and got an effective start from Nabil Crismatt in a 6-4 win over the Brewers on Thursday. Sal Frelick had his third lead off homer for the Crew and added one more hit. Caleb Durbin and Brice Turang each added two hits for Milwaukee. Quintana (10-5) had one of his worst starts this season, giving up five hits and six runs in 3 2/3 innings while throwing 95 pitches. Up next for the Brewers is a three-game series in Toronto against the Blue Jays.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Skylar Diggins scored 19 of her 23 points in the second half, Nneka Ogwumike had 12 points and nine rebounds, and the Seattle Storm rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat the Minnesota Lynx 93-79. Seattle, which trailed 39-18 midway through the second quarter, tied its second-largest comeback win in franchise history. Kayla McBride led Minnesota (30-8) with 20 points and five 3-pointers. Napheesa Collier and Courtney Williams each scored 18 points. Minnesota lost for just the second time in 20 home games this season.

(Green Bay, WI) — After days of speculation the Green Bay Packers finally got a deal done with the Dallas Cowboys that saw them land All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons. The Packers will send defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two future first round picks to the Cowboys in the deal. The Packers also agreed to a 4-year, $188 million deal with $120 million in guaranteed money. Parsons has had 52.5 sacks through his first four seasons in the NFL.

(Madison, WI) — The Wisconsin Badgers football team started the 2025 campaign with a 17-0 win over the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks, but there may be bad news when it comes to their starting quarterback. Transfer quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. left the game early in the second quarter after appearing to injure his leg on a handoff. Edwards was making his Wisconsin debut after throwing for 2,881 yards and 15 touchdowns for Maryland last season. Backup quarterback Danny O’Neil threw for 120 yards and a touchdown. Dillon Jones added 73 yards on the ground on 14 carries. Up next for the Badgers is Middle Tennessee St, who they’ll host September 6th.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Drake Lindsey passed for 290 yards and two touchdowns in his debut, helping Minnesota beat Buffalo 23-10 in their season opener. Darius Taylor rushed for 141 yards on 30 carries. Jameson Geers caught four passes for 38 yards and a score. Jalen Smith had a wide-open 60-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter to break the game open. New defensive coordinator Danny Collins’ group limited Al-Jay Henderson to 25 yards on 11 rushes. Ta’Quan Roberson, in his first start at quarterback after transferring from Kansas State, was 12 for 20 for 107 yards with a 40-yard touchdown pass for Buffalo.
