(Green Bay, WI) — Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs hasn’t practiced the last two days as he nurses a knee injury, putting his status for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos in question. Yesterday, head coach Matt LaFleur is “battling it” and the team will have to see how he feels during the final practice of the week Friday. Jacobs suffered the knee injury in the Packers win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on November 16th. He missed the Packers game the following week against the Vikings before returning to the lineup against the Lions on Thanksgiving. The Broncos run defense only gives up 89 yards rushing per game, which is the second-best in the NFL.

(Austin, TX) — The third ranked Wisconsin Badgers volleyball team is looking to continue its postseason run as it takes on number two Stanford tonight in Austin, Texas. Wisconsin is looking for its first win over Stanford in team history, with the Cardinal having come out on top in each of the six previous meetings between the two teams. One of those wins came in the 2019 National Championship match. The two teams last met in Milwaukee at the Fiserv Forum last season, as Stanford walked away with a four-set victory. If the Badgers win tonight, they’ll take on the winner of the Indiana-Texas matchup on Sunday.
Fernando Mendoza was named Associated Press player of the year after leading unbeaten and top-ranked Indiana to its first Big Ten championship since 1967 and the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff. The redshirt junior quarterback was the overwhelming choice over fellow Heisman Trophy finalists Diego Pavia of Vanderbilt, Jeremiah Love of Notre Dame and Julian Sayin of Ohio State. Mendoza received 32 of 51 first-place votes from a nationwide panel of media members who cover college football. The Hoosiers’ first-year starter transferred from California after last season and is the triggerman for Indiana’s record-setting offense.
